Some couples make our job entirely too easy. :)  This weekend we will be photographing Paul + Nikole’s wedding in Frankenmouth, MI.  We are so excited!  I know it’s going to be great.  This couple does everything well, including engagement sessions!  They both recently graduated from U of M this past month – Nikole studied anthropological archaeology, while Paul majored in meteorology.  Apparently that’s not enough to keep them busy, because Nikole also does graphic design work….and Paul is a newly commissioned officer in the Air Force training to be a pilot.

So you know, total underachievers.   Seriously though, do you think they will ever run out of things to talk about at dinner parties?

We started their session at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, and two seconds after we stepped inside, it started to pour.  But that’s ok.  That means we are guaranteed sunshine this weekend, right?

I have been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to think of something clever to say about the picture above, but I think this about sums it up:  Damn.:)

We lucked out and the storm stopped as abruptly as it started.  So we headed out to explore campus, but had to make a quick stop as we exited the gardens to visit this lovely patch of tulips:

That heart was just there!  How lucky!

While we were taking this shot, these two girls walked out of a building and were all like “Oh, look at how cute they are!  That would be a good picture!” They totally did not realize that Andy and I were there, and in fact, doing just that.  One of them actually pulled out a point-and-shoot!  Hahah!

Paul + Nikole said that the squirrel we encountered garnered more comments on their proofs than anything else, so I have to post at least one picture.  This guy was very ready for his close-up!

I also have to add that before I posted this, I was checking out my friend Sarah Brown’s blog, and she posted a squirrel picture too.  (Pssst, if you are looking for a photographer in the Chicago area, Sarah is your girl!)

Gail - Okay guys..seriously, I think this might be my favorite engagement session of yours YET!!!! What a stunning couple!!

And I LOVED the shot of them in the daffodil field. Not only does it scream “SPRING!” but because it makes me think of one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite movies, “Big Fish.”

If you’ve never seen “Big Fish”, well, really, RENT IT ALREADY. So magical..and if you have seen it and are like, “What is Gail talking about?” then just Google Image search “Big Fish Daffodils” and you’ll be like, “TOTALLY!” One of the best romantic movie proposals EVER ….

Great job guys!!! :)
