Chris & Heather’s wedding is this Friday!  We finally got to meet up with them the last weekend of June, for a quick engagement session while they were in town.  Our earlier session was canceled, thanks to some uncooperative weather, but it worked out for the best, because instead of dreary grey cloud cover, we were treated to a beautiful summer day and blue skies.  We were so excited when Heather & Chris told us that their Golden Retriever, Griffey, would be joining us.

As it turned out though, Griffey was more interested in the stream in the background than our cameras.  But who could blame him really?  I mean why would anyone want to pose for pictures when there is water and mud and grass and all kinds of interesting smelling things to investigate?  About 2 seconds after the photos above were taken, Griffey looked liked this:

Ah, Griffey.  Just like a golden to remind us that it’s all about them. (And yes, if you are looking at that first picture and wondering, Griffey is exceptionally tall, even for a golden.)

I have to hand it to Heather & Chris though – if Abby had done this, I would have freaked out.  They handled it like seasoned pros though.  Something tells me this is not Griffey’s first spontaneous swimming outing.  It also helps when you can call your brother and put 70lbs of soaking wet dog in the back of his car, instead of yours.  Genius.  Thank you, Heather’s brother.  I hope your backseat is dry by now! 

These two were total naturals, in case you couldn’t tell.  I love both of these so much.

If you ask us if you can go on swings, the answer will always be YES.  Just so you know.
