Rachel & James are getting married this December in Saginaw, MI.  We met up with them a couple weeks ago for their engagement session at Stoneycreek Metropark.  We planned the session for early evening so we’d get lots of yummy just-before-sundown sunshine like this.  Mother Nature however, had different plans entirely.  :)  But we got the most out of the sun while it lasted.

How cute are they?  :)

There’s just something timeless about this one that I love.  :)

About halfway into our session, the sun dropped behind a huge cloud, not to be seen again.  Then the thunder started and the clouds grew.  Rachel & James were great sports, and were willing to stay outside until the rain started.  We hopped in the car and decided to see if the storm would blow over quickly but we were out of luck.  It got nasty out – by the time we were leaving, the warning sirens at the park were blaring.  We didn’t realize the park had their own “hey get out of here” horn, so we thought they were the county tornado sirens, which freaked us out.

BUT, before we decided to pack it up, we got some lovely pictures of that dark brooding sky.  Less than 20 minutes passed between the photo above and this one.  Gotta love Michigan!

SB - I totally agree with you on the timeless factor for the country road (path?) shot, and that one was probably my favorite. GREAT use of light though and very pretty shots–you did a killer job as always!
