John & Kami’s wedding was a whirlwind of fun. From the beginning, they have been such a delight to work with. They are free-spirited, fun, carefree people who love to laugh. It was SO much fun working with them! (I’ve said “fun” three times now, but I can’t think of a better word, they are awesome people.) We started the day at the Westin Book-Cadillac where Kami and her bridesmaids had a luxuriously expansive suite to get ready in. Kami’s blue shoes stopped traffic. I love when brides are daring when it comes to accessories.

The necklace Kami wore on the back of her gown was a gift from her brother, who had it made from gemstones from her late father’s cufflinks. What a great way to pay tribute to him on her wedding day.
Kami & John had a full schedule of places they wanted to visit for photos, so they opted to do a First Look early in the day.
Here’s Andy’s view:

My view:

OMG, I love John’s reaction in this shot SO much! He was so excited! :)
From the hotel, we jumped in a party bus and headed over to the Fox Theatre. John had arranged for us to shoot inside and it was incredible! :)

We seriously could have spent the entire day there shooting, but we still had another stop to make. We ran across Woodward to Comerica Park, where once again we were able to get inside access, thanks to our well connected groom. Woot! :)

Then it was time to go to Belle Isle for their ceremony and reception at the Detroit Yacht Club.

John & Kami – thank you SO MUCH for choosing to work with us. We had such a good time getting to know you and working with you. Congratulations! :)
