Back in 2008, we had the pleasure of photographing Chris proposing to JJ, and then this past summer, we photographed their engagement session. This year they will be one of our first weddings of 2011 and we are so excited for them! As Chris and his family are friends of ours, there will be a lot of familiar faces, and we expect to have a great time.
Chris & JJ grew up in Grosse Pointe and they chose to visit some local landmarks for their engagement session. The image above was one they specially requested, and we decided to wait until twilight to shoot it so we could make things a little more interesting. I think it’s one of my favorite e-session images from all of last year! Thank you Chris & JJ for being patient as we tested lighting and dealt with a flash that didn’t want to fire, all while dodging cars in the process. I think the final image was definitely worth it!
We also stopped at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial and then headed farther up Lakeshore Drive to the spot where Chris had proposed.

Look, proof that the sky is BLUE in Michigan sometimes! I am really missing those kinds of days right now.
This is another one of my favorites – I love how the breeze is picking up JJ’s hair, and her eyes are so striking. Beautiful!

Love that first one! I am missing blue skies as well. But I think we are finally getting some this weekend!
