Going through Kami & Jeremy’s images to prepare this blog post made me fall in love with them all over again. If this couple looks a little familiar, it may be because I created a sample album featuring them (which I blogged about here.) Tomorrow, I’ll share some images of the actual album they ordered – which is bold and beautiful, just like this wedding was.
One of the things we REALLY appreciate as photographers is when our clients give us a generous amount of time in the time line to create their portraits. The easiest way to do this is by opting to do a First Look before the ceremony. I know I always gush about First Looks, but the images below illustrate why First Looks are magical. Because Kami & Jeremy were able to get their portraits and their formals all done before there ceremony, everyone was photographed at their freshest, and when the ceremony ended, they could go straight to the party and enjoy the evening with their guests. And enjoy it they did! But I’m getting ahead of myself. First, check out these lovely details – I LOVE when bride’s incorporate color into their bouquet, shoes, whatever. Kami’s shoes and bouquet were lively, fun, and make you happy just looking at them. Also, Jeremy did a really good job picking out her engagement ring!

Kami looked absolutely gorgeous and I don’t’ think that smile left her face all day. I loved these getting ready images. Kami, and her mom, sister and friends, were so excited to see her in this dress.

Kami & Jeremy had their First Look in the gardens at Cranbrook. Ok, wow. What an incredible place for photography. We have so many favorite images from this part of the day….and while I’m sharing a bunch, this barely scratches the surface.

The ceremony was at The Reserve in Birmingham. Another new location for us, but definitely a new favorite. They have a tented area outside for ceremonies – which can be transitioned into a gathering space for cocktail hour. The weather was perfect this day.

The theme of rich colors continued on in the reception room where the uplighting totally set the mood.

Kami’s sisters shared duties giving the toasts, and came prepared with a 200ft “scroll” full of suggestions for Jeremy as a new husband. That was a hit.

I am not sure who invited The King, but he had some smooth moves on the dance floor.

Kami & Jeremy – your wedding day was full of warmth, laughter and delight. We are so glad we got to document this day for you. I can’t look at these images without smiling. We wish you both the best and hope to see you again in the future!

Shots I adore: the shot of the groom with his arms wide at the first look. Such an awesome moment.
