Keri & Sam are such a warm, friendly couple. They wanted to do an engagement session on the western coast of Michigan, so we spent a whole day with them and really got to know them in advance of their wedding. When I look back at this wedding, I remember all the tender moments between Keri & Sam and their family. I also have to hand it to these two for picking some absolutely stellar locations. Both Keri & Sam are very design-minded, and chose each location that would be photographed with care. We started the day at the Westin Book-Cadillac and made stops at CCS, The DIA, and the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House before ending up dockside at Jefferson Beach Marina for their ceremony. And that was just the first half of the day! You may want to get a coffee and settle in, because this post is a long one!
Sweet, emotional images like these are the reason I love when our clients see each other before the ceremony. :)
I don’t normally blog many formals, but when the background is this lovely, I just had to share. I love the way the red flowers play off the deep green ivy surrounding the windows.
An impromptu tea ceremony ended up happening on the dock right after the ceremony. It was just immediate family, and I remember it being SUPER windy, and there weren’t many places to set teacups, but it was a really poignant moment as Sam’s loved ones welcomed Keri to the family.
From there everyone jumped aboard the Ovation for an evening cruise downtown. Keri & Sam had their first dance just as the yacht reached the Ambassador Bridge.
Keri & Sam – thank you SO much for letting us be part of your day. This wedding was a joy to photograph and we loved working with you both.
