I’m so pleased to share one of our recent weddings today. Sewa & Harrison planned a gorgeous day surrounded by their family and friends. Sewa is the perfect hostess, and has a passion for cooking and entertaining. Together, she and Harrison planned a lovely ceremony and reception at the stunning Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield. But before that, we got to document all the preparations leading up to their epic First Look overlooking downtown Detroit, and made a few stops along the way for photos. Brace yourselves, this is another looooong blog post!
As tradition holds, Sewa was given some exquisite gold jewelry. It was so much fun photographing all of it.
Originally, Sewa & Harrison wanted to do their First Look at Belle Isle, but it was the week before the Grand Prix, and the place was pretty much inaccessible. I scoured the area looking for alternatives in the week heading up to their wedding, and well, I think it’s safe to say we NAILED IT. :)
Love this moment.
We made stops at the Guardian Building, and the DIA - the back of the museum is one of our favorite spots and always has nice, soft light.
Planterra looked beautiful, and it was quite a novelty having such a lush background – could almost believe I was back living in Florida. :)
Some of Sewa & Harrison’s guests traveled from as far as Hong Kong to share the day with them. There were lots of happy faces in the crowd.
They cut their cake just as the sun was starting to set and then shared a sweet first dance.
What a gorgeous day. Thanks again to Sewa & Harrison for letting us document it. We truly enjoyed working with you both and wish you the best!
