Andy’s son Cooper turned 5 this May.  I can’t believe how fast time flies.  A few weeks ago, Andy was playing around with Cooper and did some audio recording with his iPhone….he managed to record this conversation where Cooper mentions a girl named Deanna. When Andy asked who she was, he responded “My girlfriend……I love her.”  Andy asked how long he’s known her and he said “Even when we were babies”.  It doesn’t translate as well in text, but it is seriously the cutest thing ever.  We have listened to this recording like 500 times now and every time we crack up laughing.

Do you guys remember Charlie from earlier this year?  He was so much fun to photograph, so we were thrilled when his mom set up an appointment for his older brother Devin.  These boys are destined to be heartbreakers, I think they will be keeping their mom on her toes!  Like his brother, Devin was a pleasure to work with and we had lots of favorite images.  Here’s just a couple:

We had to bring Charlie in for a couple portraits too.  We’ve had a couple repeat clients in the studio already (I say already because we really only started offering portraits this year) and it’s really been interesting to see how the kids react the second time in.  Charlie was a little shy the first time we met him, and this time he was ready to go with barely any warm up.  Also, at one point, he and his brother were posing and he stopped, put his arm around Devin, looked intently at me, and winked.  I nearly died.  I had to put the camera down because I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes.  Like I said, future heartbreakers for sure.   I love these boys, I hope we are able to photograph their senior portraits one day.

Caroline & Sylvie stopped by the studio a few weeks ago, and I’m excited to share some of our favorites with you. These girls were such sweethearts. Caroline was so poised and had so much to tell us, she chatted through the entire session telling us about her interests. And little Sylvie was a ball of energy and equally delightful.

Their mom did a great job of picking out outfits and accessories – in the photos below, you can see how their outfits complimented each other, without being overly matchy-matchy.

I believe this is the first time I’ve blogged the background below – it’s a rich chocolately brown and I think it looks great both in black and white and in color!

Lauren and Phil’s wedding was so much fun!  They tied the knot on a beautiful, steamy summer day at St. Hyacinth in Detroit.  Lauren was absolutely radiant.  Here are some of our favorites, enjoy!

I love when Lynn Jovich (Clever Bumblebee Creations) does the flowers, because she makes everything look unique.  I love how the groomsmen’s boutonnieres were slightly different from each other.

This was our first time photographing a ceremony at St. Hyacinth and it was SUCH a gorgeous church.

Before heading over the the Colony Club, Lauren & Phil made a pit stop at Lafayette Coney Island.  I applaud the courage of anyone willing to eat a chili dog in a wedding dress.  :)

Then it was on to The Colony Club – one of our favorite places for a reception!  As always, it was stunning!

I really liked Lauren & Phil’s unique take on a guestbook.  They had a book full of little envelopes and each guest could write on a blank card and put it inside.  Simple and striking.

Luke & Lana were such a delight!  We had so much fun photographing them.  Once we took a few photos and broke the ice, they were completely relaxed and gave us great, natural expressions.  Andy had them both in stitches the entire time.  In fact, I had to eliminate quite a few photos because Lana was laughing so hard she had tears running down her cheeks!   And then when the session was over, they didn’t want to leave!  They told us they wanted to come back everyday to get their pictures taken – even their mom joked that they should be doing commercials for us.  They were pretty awesome.  :)

Adeline & Blake were both little whirlwinds of energy!  They really kept us on our toes.  Our main goal was to get some great portraits of Adeline for her first birthday, and finish up with a few images of Blake and Addy together.  Adeline has big, gorgeous blue eyes that really popped with the blue background.

Oh my goodness – what a cutie we have on the blog today! Ava is 7-months old and was such a great little model! We are having so much fun photographing all these little ones in the studio.  It was tough picking favorites for the blog, let me tell you!

Erin & Chris had a beautiful, elegant wedding at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s.  Erin, who is obsessed with Disney, and the story of Cinderella, realized she had found her own prince after dragging him to every store at Disneyworld….an adventure he endured without complaint.  Their wedding day was full of tender and emotional moments and we were thrilled to capture their day.

Erin’s dad gave such a moving speech – reading from a card Erin had given him.  I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.

Three years ago, we were there to capture the moment when Bill proposed to Dawn.  So we were delighted when they found out they were expecting….with twins!  It was so much fun to catch up with them and photograph their sweet new sons, Blake & Chase.  Here’s a couple of our favorites!
