West Park Photography started shooting proposals in 2007 – and it’s something we love to do! As wedding photographers, we are adept at capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments under a variety of circumstances. Leading up to the proposal we will work closely with you and scout the location if necessary so we can capture the moment without your fiance suspecting a thing. Our clients have been thrilled with the results and their photos become a hit with their family – who usually would never “see” the event without the photos.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about our Proposal Coverage:
Why photograph a proposal?
Because it’s a very special moment that both of you will remember forever, however it’s also a moment that few couples have photos of. If you prefer proposing in private, rather than in front of your family, it’s a great way for them to participate in the moment. We create a slideshow of images and host it online, so your family and friends can see the moment when you popped the question. The in-laws love this! :)
How does this all work?
You contact us and let us know the date, the location, and how you plan on proposing. We’ll work with you to figure out a plan on how to keep our presence stealthy and unobtrusive. We will work out a timeline of events, and arrive early to make sure the location is clear. We like to coordinate with you via text to let you know we are on site, because oftentimes, you won’t be able to see us either!
Won’t you like….be two feet away from us? Isn’t that going to be weird?
No! We have invested in quality gear, including long telephoto lenses. What that means is that we can get great close-up shots while maintaining enough of a distance to give you both privacy and keep your future bride from noticing us. :)
What do I get?
You get photographic coverage of your proposal itself, by two photographers (two vantage points!) and a 5×5 keepsake album, and online slideshow. Other print and album options are available. In addition, we are happy to do a brief little “afterglow” session after the cat’s out of the bag. We’ve had couples bring champagne for toasting, or just pose for a mini-session.
How much does this cost?
Our creative fee for this session is $150, with a non-refundable $50 retainer due to hold your date. The balance can be paid when you pick up your album. We accept PayPal or a personal check. Additional fees may apply if you are more than 50 miles from the Detroit area.
Will she say yes?
We make no guarantees, but our record is 100% so far!
